Simon Robinson is a versatile bass-baritone, who has become one of the most sought after Singers in both operatic and concert repertoire. His repertoire ranges from the Baroque, through to the Classical, Romantic and contemporary music. He studied singing at the University of Arts in Berlin with Robert Gambill.

His recent and upcoming performances at many of Europe’s leading Opera houses and Concert halls include: Bayerische Staatsoper (Orfeo), Tonhalle Zurich (Missa Solemnis), Wigmore Hall (St Johns Passion), Deutsche Oper Berlin Heart Chamber), Staatsoper Berlin Dido and Aneas), Gewandhaus Leipzig, MDR Radio Orchester Leipzig Haydn Requiem, Warsaw Opera ( Castor es Pollux) and Snape Maltings (Cosi), Magdeburg Opera ( Otto) , Opéra de Rouen, Opéra de Lille (Bach). He has worked with leading conductors and directors, Raphael Pichon, Claus Guth, Johannes Kalitzke, Helmut Rilling, Rene Jacobs, Benjamin Bayle, Christopher Moulds, Christian Curnyn, Stephan Schulz, Andrea Marchiol,Niclas Fink, Christophe Rousset.

As an opera singer, he made his debut in 2011 in the role of Mercury in Cavalli's opera "La Calisto" at the Festival of Early Music in Innsbruck. In 2012 he sang the title role in the premiere of the opera "Caliph" at the State Theatre of Kiel headed by Bettina Rohrbeck. He has performed in Handel’s opera "Susanna" at Iford Opera Festival and in Rameau's opera "Nais" with the Aldeburgh Proms in England. His Mozart repertoire includes the roles of Leporello in "Don Giovanni" and Don Alfonso in "Cosi Fan Tutte" at the Aldeburgh Festival.

In 2014 he celebrated great success as "Otto" in the title role of Handel / Telemann’s opera at the State Opera Theatre in Magdeburg, as part of the International Telemann Festival. Other performances were at the Grand Théâtre de la Ville de Luxembourg and in France at the Arsenal in Metz.

In June 2015 he made his debut at the Bavarian State Opera as part of the Munich Opera Festival in Monteverdi's "Orfeo" conducted by Christopher Moulds.

There have been numerous concert appearances, including a Bach tour with Helmut Rilling in Germany and Chile; Bach cantatas with the Academy of Ancient Music; Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, Brahms German Requiem at the Konzerthaus Berlin; Mahler's" Songs of a Wayfarer “ with the Berlin Symphony Orchestra, Dvorjak Stabat Mater in the Thomas Church Leipzig, Mozart's "Requiem" with the Staatskapelle Berlin and the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra,

Most recently he has made his debut with the Tonhalle Orchestra Zürich; Handels Messiah at both the Handel festival in Halle and the Tage für Alte Musik Regensburg. This July he will be performing the Creation from Haydn with the National Symphony Orchestra of Latvia Conducted by Nicolas Fink.
